I even bought all his movies from my neighbor's son at their garage sale a few years back. VHS of course (do people still know what that is? I guess it's not BetaMax). Some still shrink-wrapped. I think Clint's a great actor, director, producer. He speaks his mind and doesn't make apologies. He's the type of guy most guys want to be.

I know I might take some heat for this and I don't like to criticize Dirty Harry, but speaking on behalf of Chrysler in his now famous (or infamous?) Super Bowl ad was one big ass mistake.

Taxpayers lost $1.3 Billion bailing out a bankrupt car company that couldn't get people to buy their shitty cars. So what did they do? Got Uncle Sam to bail them out and then turned around and stiffed the 50% of Americans who still pay taxes with the bill. Works out pretty nice if you're building piss-poor lemons that even government subsidized auto loans and tax credits aren't enough to convince people to pay the exorbitant price for said junk. Sorry Clint; you shat the bed on this one by dumping on all the working stiffs that were forced to pay for Chrysler's remarkable turnaround (lol).

It's not half-time in America. It's not even the fourth quarter. It's double overtime, we're down by 7, there's no time left on the clock, we need a touchdown (and the 2-pt conversion) and the 50-mph sleet just started coming down. We need a miracle. We need Ron Paul. Who, in a funny dose of irony, is someone Clint Eastwood thinks would make just as good a president as flip-flop Mitt or Nobel Peace Prize bomber in chief, Barack. (which sounds good on the surface, but makes clear the point the Clint hasn't a clue what's going on. we'll tackle that sometime else. or never. my choice).

Obama Admin Pushes for Taxpayer Screwing

Because in America, the cost of contractual rights was just announced, and it is $25 billion: this is the amount of money that banks will pay to settle the fact that for years mortgages were issued and re-issued without proper title and liens on the underlying paper, courtesy of Linda Green et al. Why is this happening? Because staunch hold outs for equitable justice (at least until this point), the AGs of NY and California folded like cheap lawn chairs (we can't wait to find what corner office of Bank of America they end up in), but not before the one and only intervened. From the WSJ: "The Obama administration made a full-court press over the past four days to secure the support of key state attorneys general, including those from Florida, California and New York." Nothing like a little presidential persuasion to help one with overcoming one's conscience. Because in America the push to abrogate the very foundation of contractual agreements comes from the very top. But wait, there's more - just to wash its hands of the guilt associated with this settlement which shows once and for all that the Democratic administration panders as much if not more to the banking syndicate as any republican administration, as it announces one settlement with one hand, with the other the US will sue banks over the mortgage reps and warranties issue covered extensively here, in the most glaringly obtuse way to distract that it is gifting trillions worth of contingent liabilities right back to the banks, not to mention discarding the whole concept of justice. From the WSJ: "Federal securities regulators plan to warn several major banks that they intend to sue them over mortgage-related actions linked to the financial crisis, according to people familiar with the matter. The move would mark a stepped-up regulatory effort to hold Wall Street accountable for its sale of bonds linked to subprime mortgages in 2007 and 2008. At issue is whether the banks misrepresented the poor quality of loan pools they bundled and sold to investors, the people said." Wait, let us guess -that particular lawsuit will end up in a... settlement? Ding ding ding. We have a winner. All today's news succeed in doing is finally wrapping up any and all legal loose ends, so that banks can finally wrap all outstanding litigation overhangs at pennies on the dollar. And if at the end of the day, they find themselves cash strapped, why the US will simply loan them more cash of course.

Paul and Romney Tie Obama

In a CBS News poll, only Mitt Romney and Ron Paul have the support needed to beat Obama.

More importantly, Ron Paul leads Obama by 7% among independents. Whoever the GOP nominee is, they'll need the independents to beat Obama.

If the GOP wants the White House back, they'd better get behind Ron Paul, because nothing will energize the independents and democrats more than the thought of allowing Mitt Romney to be president.

Dana Bash: Not Good for the Gander

Dana Bash has her 'interview' with Ron Paul cut short after she clearly engages in 'junk' journalism, as RP campaign manager Jesse Benton is quick to point out while ending her time with Ron.

Interestingly, Dana Bash reportedly apologizes to Carol Paul, Ron's wife, who had been shoved at the event prior.

Why did Bash feel the need to apologize to Carol? Was it for the poor treatment by the media at the earlier campaign stop? Or maybe she's just sorry such a wonderful woman has to stand by and watch her husband get slandered by the media.

Also, Dana Bash pleads with Jesse to be fair. Seriously!?! From the network that repeatedly tries to smear Ron Paul?!? They want to be treated fairly after they don't bother with extending the same courtesy? I guess that whole golden rule thing about treating others as you would like to be treated doesn't jump the synapses over at CNN? Or maybe just at the King dinner table (Dana Bash King is married to fellow CNN anchor, John King).

“Dr. Paul has been committed to meeting one on one with New Hampshire voters, and has aggressively campaigned at town halls, house parties, and meet and greets since early last spring.

“This morning, he attempted to hold an event at Moe Joe’s Diner in Manchester, to speak with patrons and supporters in the last push before the New Hampshire primary. Unfortunately, Dr. Paul and his family were forced to leave early after over 120 members of the press created a mob-like atmosphere that was deemed to be unsafe for the candidate, Moe Joe’s customers, and reporters themselves.

Jay asks Ron about a third-party run; why? Ron's #1 or #2 in Iowa among the GOP field, and #2 or #3 in NH and is polling in the top two or three nationally. Why the hell ask such a stupid question??

Jay's basically saying, "Ron, you're poised to win Iowa, place very well in NH, your fundraising is incredible, you're polling in the top two or three in the nation on all polls and you're a frontrunner for the Republican nomination; when are you going to drop out and run third party?!"

This sounds like something the MSM muppets would ask, not Jay. Can you imagine Wolf Blitzer if Mitt Romney will run third-party? Or Newt? Or anyone else besides that joker Donald Trump? I think not.

But it's probably telling that everyone keeps asking. They're afraid that Ron Paul and his growing base will shun the Republican party since the GOP has turning RINO. If they don't have RP and his supporters on board, they lose the 2012 election to Obama and the Dems and have to suffer another four years out of power. Since all they care about is regaining the White House and wielding influence again, they most certainly are worried that an RP third party run would torpedo there hopes to rule Mordor once more.

Thoughts on RP's Leno interview

Ron's interview with Leno was incredible. He was in a relaxed environment where he got time to respond to relevant questions. Some takeaways:

- "I'm in favor of seat belts, not seat belt laws": this pretty much sums up RP's philosophy on everything. As individuals, we should make good decisions, but we should never use force to compel other people to make good decisions. Take drugs for example; as a physician, parent, grandparent, great-grandparent and rational human being, Ron Paul thinks that recreational drug use is harmful and should be discouraged. But, he believes that we should have the freedom to do what we want with our bodies, even if that means doing harm. Also, he points out that there are medical uses for some substances, like marijuana, and when the people overwhelmingly vote to legalize such use (as in California and other states) the federal government has no jurisdiction to tell them otherwise.

-Michelle Bachmann Hates Muslims: Yes, Ron Paul said Michelle Bachmann hates Muslims (see the youtube). And he's right. How else can you describe a person that would pre-emptively bomb Muslims in another country that have done nothing to harm America? She doesn't even believe that all people are equal, with some cultures being more equal than others (Orwellian, no?). She's a bigot, plain and simple.

-Young people are principled: Most people are born with a general sense of right and wrong. It's only after they've been exposed to the evils of the world that they become corrupted. Young people love Dr. Paul because he speaks the truth and they appreciate an honest politician for a change.

-Joe Rogan was a billboard and live commercial for Ron Paul. People need to give Rogan some props. He wore a Ron Paul shirt and praised Dr. Paul for the first half of his interview with Leno. You can't buy that kind of airtime or endorsement, even with all the massively successful MoneyBombs ($3.2 million last night alone!). Go see Joe's stand-up, watch Fear Factor and thank Rogan for his help in promoting Dr. Paul.

- Freedom is popular.

-Protecting property rights would protect the environment better than the EPA ever could, with less money and more freedom.

-Israel is a sovereign nation and should not have to answer to the US when making decisions about it's borders, peace process or its enemies.

No One But Paul (Can Beat Obama)

Ron Paul is the only GOP candidate that has a shot at beating Obama in the general election. A Dec. 4 NBC/Marist poll shows that all GOP candidates lose to Obama in a hypothetical match-up, except for Ron Paul.

For all those Republicans who hate Obama and want him gone, they have to come to the realization that only Ron Paul can beat Obama. Every other candidate will lose. Obama would like nothing better than to face Romney, Gingrich or any other GOP candidate without the last name Paul.

Obama fears a Paul candidacy because Ron Paul would harness the Republican vote, but also take away the two voting blocks that propelled Obama to his 2008 victory; Independents and on the edge Democrats. These two groups are increasingly dissatisfied with the broken promises of Obama and his continuation of the status quo. They don't want to support him again, but if Romney or Gingrich is the GOP nominee they pretty much have to; Newt Romney is as establishment as it gets and these two groups of voters would rather give Obama the benefit of the doubt - and a second term - than see big-corporation Mittens or three-wives, neo-con Gingrich get the White House.

In the above poll Ron Paul takes away 15% of Obama's Democrats (you know, those people who aren't Republicans and are supposed to support, uh, their incumbent Democrat in the Oval Office?), and garners more of the Independents than "The One".

That is a recipe for disaster for Obama. He simply cannot face Ron Paul in a general election; anyone but Paul will get crushed by Obama machine. That's what Obama wants. Anyone but Paul.

Which is precisely why we - and the GOP - must nominate NO ONE BUT PAUL!

Anyone else equals four more years of Obama. Spread the word.

First, Stop Being Violent

Most people are generally good and do not wish to harm another person. This is basic human nature as enjoining a conflict increases the chance that one will be harmed. The survivalist instinct usually tells us 'flight' is superior to 'fight'. However, there are occasions when exerting one's rights entails the use of force. So when is the use of force or violence justified?

Self-defense is the only morally legitimate use of force or violence. If someone sticks a gun in our face and demands your wallet, we realize that the mugger's use of violence and the threat of force allows us to respond in kind to prevent harm upon person or property. It matters not what the mugger will do with the cash in your wallet; he could give it to Mother Theresa herself and his actions would still be morally and ethically wrong.

But when the mugger has a fancy costume and calls itself government, a vast majority of people in the U.S. and around the world see no problem with this use of force. For them, it is perfectly fine for a group of people called 'government' to use the threat of violence or imprisonment to extort billions of dollars of wealth from producers to distribute to themselves first and then to the preferred special interest groups they represent i.e. not the people.

The initiation of violence is wrong. This principle is know as the Non-Aggression Principle (NAP). It should be the basis of all political philosophy. Unfortunately, the politics of the U.S. and most the 'developed' world rely on violence against people and property. Only when the majority of people come to understand the morally bankrupt position of our current political environment will we begin to move towards a more just and peaceful society. It is the job of freedom and liberty lovers to spread this message far and wide.

GOP's New(t)est Infatuation?

Newt Gingrich is taking his turn as the GOP frontrunner. This tells us more about the average GOP electorate, or at least those being polled.

You'd think conservatives, especially the religious right, would shy away from a man who takes his marriage vows - made before God in a church no less - about as seriously as the previous GOP flavor of the week, Herman Cain. Comparing Newt to King David?? Seriously? The serial adulterer with not a hint of humility, piety, empathy or devotion to any god (unless you count money and power) who advocates more war and violence is the choice of those who follow the Prince of Peace? The religious right is sorely lacking any moral fortitude if they can't realize that the salamander stands for everything they supposedly believe in.

And in case you missed it, Leroy has been making millions as the quintessential D.C. insider. The TEA party types in the GOP, who rail on Freddie and Fannie for their role in the FED-fueled housing bubble should be denouncing Newt every chance they get instead of pushing him to the front of the GOP field. If you're Taxed Enough Already and sick and tired of the status quo in Washington, there is some pretty amazing cognitive dissonance going on upstairs if Gingrich is your man to lead the country.

There must also be some severe amnesia in the GOP is they can't remember what a failure Newt was as Speaker of the House, when he was the first Speaker in history to get censured and penalized $300,000 for ethical wrongdoing.

Newt has no morals, ethics or principles. He has used his position of power to enrich himself at the expense of taxpayers. He cannot keep any oath or office or marriage. If this is who the GOP wants as the presidential nominee to take on Obama in the fall of 2012 then the GOP is logically, morally and fundamentally broken and will ensure another 4 years of Carter, er, Obama.
